Red Sauce Mix

Pasta without a good sauce is like a date without the romance. If you want to create those authentic Italian flavours, you can skip chef school and turn to SNAP!N® Pasta Mates Red Sauce Mix.

Making the perfect sauce

Step 1

Make a light crossed cut on the base of a dozen (600g) tomatoes

Step 2

Boil the tomatoes for 3 mins over a medium flame

Step 3

Remove tomatoes from the water & peel from the cross cut. Chop the tomatoes

Step 4

Blend tomatoes until smooth. Pour the puree into a bowl

Step 5

Cook on a medium flame for 10-15 minutes. Mix SNAP!N Pasta Mates and continue to heat. Use the starchy water, to thin the sauce or avoid clumps, as required

Making the perfect pasta

Step 1

Boil 3 handfuls (200g) of pasta in a large pot with plenty of water & add 1 tablespoon of salt.

Step 2

Stir the pasta continuously to avoid clumping.

Step 3

When your pasta is ready, drain it completely!

Step 4

Save 1 cup of the starchy water, after draining the pasta.

Step 5

Mix the pasta with the sauce. Add the starchy water to moisten the pasta if dry, or make the sauce thin, as required.
